Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2025
This Cookie Policy explains how PICKL Inc (“we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.thepickl.com
and related pages (the “Site”) and within our mobile applications (together, the “Services”). It also explains your choices and controls. If any collected data is—or becomes—personal information, our Privacy Policy
applies in addition to this Cookie Policy.
1) What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device to store information.
First-party cookies are set by the site you visit (us).
Third-party cookies are set by others (e.g., analytics, ad partners).
We also use similar technologies like web beacons, pixels, SDKs (in mobile apps), and local storage.
2) Why we use them
We use first- and third-party cookies/SDKs for:
Essential operations (security, authentication, load balancing, fraud prevention).
Performance & analytics (usage metrics, crash reporting, service improvement).
Functionality (remembering preferences and settings).
Attribution & marketing (measuring campaign performance).
Advertising (showing or measuring relevant ads; you can opt out—see below).
3) Types of cookies/SDKs we use
Essential (Strictly Necessary)
Required for the Services to function (sign-in, security, basic operations). These cannot be switched off in our systems.
Performance & Analytics
Help us understand how the Services are used (e.g., page/app performance, crashes, feature adoption). Examples include web analytics and crash-reporting SDKs.
Functionality
Remember choices (e.g., language, saved settings) to personalize your experience.
Advertising & Attribution
Used to deliver, measure, and improve ads or partner campaigns; may “share” limited data for cross-context/targeted advertising as defined in modern U.S. state privacy laws (see Your Choices).
We periodically update vendors. See our Sub-processors page for current providers.
4) Mobile SDKs
In our apps, we use SDKs for analytics, crash reporting, messaging/notifications, and attribution. Your device settings let you control advertising identifiers (e.g., iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Reset Advertising Identifier; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
5) Your choices & controls
Cookie banner & Preferences Center
On web, you can manage non-essential cookies via our cookie banner and Preferences link (found in the site footer). Essential cookies remain active to provide the service you request.
Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Steps vary by browser—check the Help menu for instructions. Blocking some cookies may impact functionality.
Opt out of targeted advertising
Web choices: Your Privacy Choices link in the footer (Do Not Sell or Share / Targeted Advertising opt-out).
Industry tools: aboutads.info/choices
(US), youronlinechoices.eu
(EU).
Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor supported GPC signals where legally required.
Mobile app choices
Disable ad personalization in device settings (see Section 4).
Manage push notifications in device OS settings.
6) Do we use other tracking tech (pixels/beacons)?
Yes. Pixels and web beacons help us understand traffic patterns, email campaign performance (e.g., open rates), and feature usage. Many of these rely on cookies/SDKs; if you disable those, some measurement may not function.
7) Data we collect via cookies/SDKs
Depending on the tool and your settings: device and app/browser info, IP address, general location, pages/screens viewed, time and referrers, event data (e.g., clicks, installs), crash logs, and ad/attribution identifiers. If such data is linked to you, we treat it as personal information per our Privacy Policy.
8) International users & legal bases (GDPR/UK)
For users in the EEA/UK, we rely on:
Consent for non-essential cookies/SDKs (analytics, advertising).
Legitimate interests or contract for strictly necessary cookies/SDKs that enable core functionality and security.
You can withdraw consent at any time via the Preferences link.
9) Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to technologies, vendors, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
